This Protein Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie is a protein-powder free breakfast or snack that’s perfect for celebrating National Smoothie Day!
Happy National Smoothie Day! As a new mom, you can bet I am ALL about smoothies most days of the week since they’re a fast way to pack in lots of nutrition. And while I typically just throw in whatever I have on hand, my current favourite is my Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie.
This combo legit FEELS like dessert, but it’s surprisingly really good for you because it’s packed with a combination of protein and fibre which will keep you satiated all morning long. It also makes a fantastic post workout snack to refuel sore muscles after a serious sweat sesh in the gym. And who doesn’t want to look forward to CHEESECAKE after working out
How to Make this Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie
Smoothies are typically pretty simple so it really comes down to having the right ingredients and tools. That said, I wouldn’t even attempt to make a smoothie without my @Vitamixca Ascent Series A3500 blender. This sleek state-of-the-art blender combines stylish form with function, offering the absolute top of the line in technology. I love the Bluetooth connectivity and SELF-DETECT technology which tells the motor base which container you’re using and automatically adjusts the settings. That means you can easily make this Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie for just yourself, or the whole family, and it will come out perfect every time.
To make this smoothie, I start by adding a container of high protein cottage cheese to my Vitamix Ascent Series and pureeing it until it gets SUPER creamy and smooth. Cottage cheese is a favourite power snack of mine because it packs an impressive 25 grams of protein per cup, but if you’re not a fan of the curd texture, then try it pureed! You’ll be surprised how ridiculously luscious it becomes.
Next, I add a little cream cheese (because hey, it’s a strawberry CHEESECAKE protein smoothie), almond milk and LOTS of frozen strawberries for natural sweetness and colour.
Finally, I top mine off with a little crushed freeze dried strawberries and graham crackers to really NAIL the strawberry cheesecake protein smoothie vibe, but if you’re in a pinch, you can totally skip this step.
Now lovelies, I want to know how YOU’RE planning to celebrate National Smoothie Day!
