Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prepare a large baking sheet lined with a silpat or parchment paper.
  • Fill a medium pot an inch high with water. Place the pot on the burner over medium heat and bring the water to a gentle simmer. Place the Green & Blacks chocolate in a large heat-proof bowl and set over a pot. Let the chocolate melt, stirring often until smooth and melted.
  • Add the almonds and toss until fully coated and spread out onto the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle with orange zest, chili powder, fleur de sel and hemp hearts. Allow the chocolate to cool and set completely or transfer to the fridge to quicken the process. Separate the nuts and serve on a cheese board or in a bowl for easy snacking.

Notes

  • The toppings I picked give my chocolate covered almonds an extra nutritious edge as with a sprinkle of hemp hearts on top, it helps boost the treat with some fibre, protein and healthy omega 3 fats. You are welcomed to change the toppings to something else if you wish. Other suggests include: crushed freeze-dried raspberries or strawberries,, cocoa powder, flavoured collagen powder, and more!
  • If you prefer to melt your chocolate in the microwave, you can do so by placing the chocolate in the microwave for 20-25 seconds. Remove the bowl from the microwave and gently give it a stir. Microwave the bowl for another 20 seconds and repeat. Microwave one more time for about 15 seconds and stir.
  • The almonds can be swapped for a different nut of your choice if you desire.
